Erie Vibes & Irie Tides
Tropidelic |
After first teaming with some college friends in 2006, singer Matthew Roads overhauled Tropidelic's lineup in 2009, putting together a funk-infused groove of reggae-rockers that ended up earning the group the title of Best Cleveland Area Band from Fox 8s Hotlist. Tropidelic has been sharing that positive vibe with its growing legion of fans ever since, playing at events like Vans Warped Tour, the Florida Music Festival and the Midpoint Music Festival while performing with the likes of 311, The Wailers, George Clinton, Digable Planets and Afroman. The band also has landed regular gigs at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Mr. Small's and Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh, the Scarlet & Gray Cafe in Columbus, and Jackie O's in Athens, OH, while touring the Midwest, Northeast and Florida. Their shows are filled with raw kinetic energy, as Roads explains, adding that someone taking in a Tropidelic show for the first time should expect to dance! Indeed, the bands energetic mix of funk, reggae, rock, hip-hop, punk, dub and ska gets people moving. Here then our their first 3 releases which are all EPs, you can hear the energy, creativity, and overall vibe that has spawned the genre Trop Rock, for which these guys are one of the pioneers.

Work To Do
Public Property |
Much has been said about Public Property's Midwest origins as a white reggae band hailing from Iowa City, IA. After three albums, 3 years, and hundreds of gigs, the group no longer need defend itself from sceptics or critics who believe reggae is one color and comes from one place. Add female vocalists, a ukulele, and lyrics as controversial as Bob Marley himself, it's no wonder this band has risen so quickly in the U.S. reggae and jam scenes as one of the top nationally touring reggae acts. You'd be hard pressed to find a more confrontational and outspoken band that sounds this fun. Of the pople, by the people, and for all the people, Public Property will spread its message across the country."

Groove Telepathy
First Light |
Groove Telepathy was the follow up studio CD that saw the group expand their sound away from the original reggae vibe into more of a rock-funk-blues-world sound. The re-issued version contains A BONUS TRACK as well as re-mixes of 6 tracks that were done at Pyramid Studios in San Francisco, and they infuse a whole new energy into these songs, making this CD world-class, and another CLEVELAND CLASSIC.
SOON TO FOLLOW: Little Fish Records has several other First Light re-issues in the pipeline including Live at the Empire and Bootleg recordings that were previously only available on cassette, and a newly discovered Live at the Agora CD that was simulcast on WNCX 98.5 circa 1992. Stay Tuned!
