THE CLEVELAND CLASSICS CATALOGUE
Greetings friends and music lovers,
We’ve been busy at Little Fish Records acquiring some more great music for your enjoyment! Our Cleveland Classics catalogue has been enhanced and expanded with some interesting new titles. Check these out:
Glass Harp – this legendary power trio featuring the flying fingers of Phil Keaggy has several releases that we were able to add to our store, including the “Glass Harp” cd and the “Synergy” cd.
Rastus – as Blood, Sweat, and Tears and Chicago were pioneering the big band horn sound, so was Rastus here in Cleveland. They eventually ended up in Los Angeles and performed before many top acts of the late sixties/early seventies era. Their cd titled “Steamin’” is now available at Little Fish Records.
The Dazz Band – emerging from the streets of Cleveland with a sound that was characterized as “danceable jazz”, this group won a Grammy for the song “Let It Whip”. Check out their best on the “Motown Legends” cd.
Frank Yankovic – probably the original Cleveland Classic artist, he pioneered a sound that became known as the “Cleveland-style polka” with heavy Slovenian-based influences. He was the first artist to actually win a Grammy for polka music. While he has numerous releases to his credit, we’ve picked four to add to our catalogue:
“Songs of the Polka King – volume 2”
“Wish I Was 18 Again”
“Live In Nashville”
“70 Years of Hits”
Michael Stanley – in case you missed it, we’ve added several titles from Cleveland’s favorite son to our catalogue this summer. From the “Michael Stanley Band”, we now have the “Fourth and Ten” and “Inside Moves” cd’s, as well as two hot DVD’s: “Live at Blossom Music Center” and “MSB-TV”. These really capture the majic that MSB had with the Cleveland audience. Be sure to check them out. In recent years, Michael has released several solo cd’s that we are making available including “American Road” and “The Ground.”

NEW RELEASES----------------------------
Most of you know that Little Fish Records is committed to presenting the finest new music in a wide variety of genres, both past, present, and future. With that in mind, here is what we have assembled for release:
The Jack Fords – “Bent Outta Shape”
American roots-rock music with a fresh energy that gets you rocking! This 4-piece group has been winning rave reviews in the local media with their first release, a live recording that captures the essence of high energy, roots-rock.
Cletus Black – “Bloodlines to the Heart”
Cleveland’s lyrical poet is at it again with an album full of stories and characters that will paint a picture before your eyes and ears. With Tommy Rich (Donnie Iris) once again producing this effort, the music matches the lyrical content in its ability capture a mood.
The Ark Band – “All Things Considered”
These reggae road warriors have just finished up their 3rd release (2nd on Little Fish Records) and decided that this time, they wanted give the reggae treatment to a variety of cover songs in an attempt to reach out to the mainstream listener. They chose well, as their arrangements of such classics like “The Way You Do the Things You Do” (Temptations), “Hotel California” (Eagles), “The Land Down Under” (Eddy Grant) and “Electric Avenue” will be sure to get you singing along while your bouncing up and down!
Jah Works
Little Fish Records is especially pleased to have reached outside of the Cleveland area to sign one of the top groups on the Eastern seaboard – Jah Works, out of the Baltimore/DC area. With four independent cd releases to their credit, this group plays close to 300 dates per year and has been included in several international USO tours. We’ve had them to Cleveland a couple of times to perform with Carlos Jones & the PLUS Band, and what a show the two groups put on! Their music fuses both roots and dancehall reggae, with R & B, Jazz, and Rock. Great arrangements, excellent production. These guys are real heavyweights. We’re proud to add the following four cd releases to our catalogue:
- “Hard To Find”
- “Bassmentality”
- “Taking Off Tomorrow”
- “Live, Volume 2”
LITTLE FISH ARTISTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE VIA DIGITAL DOWNLOAD----------------------------
As some of you may already know, Little Fish Records artists are now up on most of the major digital download sites, including I-Tunes, Rhapsody, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, etc. If you’d like to download a single song or a full cd, you now have that capability. Stay tuned for news announcing the release of previously unavailable music that will be released on these download sites.
ARTIST NEWS----------------------------
ON THE RADAR----------------------------
Groups we like:
Ghetto Wisdom with Mike Calzone
Look for the release of the single, “Ghetto Preacher” on all the digital download sites. There will be two versions released: a hip hop version featuring local Cleveland rapper, Curt Hustle, and an R & B version featuring E&J Ntoxicated, lead singer of Ghetto Wisdom.
Whiskey Island Ramblers
Look for this great Irish/Celtic rock group to debut at the Greenville Inn in Chagrin Falls on December 28th.
Denzon and the Road Dogs with Mike Calzone
Think South Side Johnny, Akron-style. We’re working on getting them a show in the Cleveland area to display their talents.
